Purpose

​

The purpose of this scene is a final climax to an hour long episode. Nick has been buried alive and has been panicing, someone has been trying to kill him by buring him cuting him off from the air supply, this leads to a count down of when he dies. As it is one of their own they take every second very seriously. They have found him and this is the dramatic ending. Sound used throughout this scene creates a dramatic effect with every element contributing to a tense feel to the audeince.

 

Elements & The Meaning Behind It

Atmosphric sounds of the tractor, police men shouting, and even gravel of people running around, these all create a tense atmosphere the gravel presents panic as other characters feel hopeless in helping Nick in his final seconds. Nick bangs on the box to create a sense of urgency the atmophric sound of thing bang seems to be enhanced as audiences want them to free him now.

Sound effects like the explotion and peeping of the truck helps the audeince understand the warnings of the situation, the explotion proves how dangerous this scene was and how close Nick was to being killed. The sound effects help audeicne enhance their understanding of danger and how intense every actor was feleing.

Diolgue spoken was spoken with such ergency but calming and collective to keep hold of the situation. Ech character shouting to be heard but also in despiration as Nick needs to be saved quickly. Grissom tell nick to calm down and stay lead down to save everyone around him, even diglouge of crying and shock helps the audeince connect with the scene.

Music was used throughout, the music chanages to collaberate with the effect of the scene. When they first find Nick the music is face pace and tense as its minutes till he could die. As the scene goes on near the end the music fades out as the atomosphric sound takes over the music creates tension but goes quiet to let the audience understadn how close he was to death.
