P2 (Unit 16) - Behind Closed Doors

We are beginning to stat a new project those of us as an agency has called ‘Behind Closed Doors.’ We wanted to keep the theme to do with our community and reflect what we though are community is missing and not understanding with each individual. “Behind Closed Doors’ maybe be a broad statement however, we felt as though there are some personal things, lives, activities that people seem to be missing.

Some of my ideas include:

• Hidden Talents – I have an idea where music is seen as a big inspiration to people’s lives, some people wouldn’t be who they were unless they expressed themselves through music. I wanted to present the idea of music being an inspiration and how one individual making up her/his songs creates a sense of understanding to their emotions.

• Seeing The Bigger Picture – Some people don’t understand that people in different ethnic backgrounds, peoples sexuality, peoples up bring can lead to a different sense of the world around them compared to people like you and me who are privileged to get what they want and have the life they wanted. I would show in my video a split scene of someone’s day to day life compared to someone with an ethnic background or someone living with a disability to express how hard it is for them compared to the audience.

• What Is Out There? – A journey created where people can see the world around them. They express the places to see the things to do, people to see the world around them. This relates to the activities side where I could have a camera helmet and film what I see through my eyes. Maybe a slide show of pictures and memories created after every activity.

• Who Are They? - The people day to day that you don’t normally take notice of in your life. The people that clean, the people that work in the worse place, the expectations people think they need from the services like policemen or emergency services.

Poeple I could use:

1. My auntie works as a 999 caller and police women. She listens to calls that comes from people ringing the police and calms people down and helps them with their situation. This helps them have a calm collective person on the phone helping them get through their tough time in their live and reasure that help is coming. However, they never get to meet and some people dont apprishate what they do in order to get police over to them.

2. My Step auntie works as a imigration officer. Stopping people from coming into our contry that will not benifit us as a society. She also saves people from other contries and brings them to England to get them away from war (mainly women and children) this vital work helps our society grow and the people in england keep on benefiting. Some people do not see her job taking effect and even some people have formed political parties to make her job harder than it already is. They need to see the bigger picture.

3. My Uncle is part of the RAF which will be hard to film and get access to due to secretes and war happening already however he would be greatful for people to see the life behind him as people in the militery lead a hard life moving around and always having to protect their children more than other parents becuase of terrorests.

4. I work as a barista in Costa Coffee with my mother and some of my mates. Sometimes some people dont see that background to Costa's coffee beans and even the staff. I work with a French women that is always been talked down to and misunderstood. Costa is more than making coffee each team member have their own job and their own responsibility which many people dont see.

5. My best friend sees music as the love of her life. She writes and express her self through songs, some that I have never heard. It would be great to express her inner feelings and why she writes perticular songs and what fraises she uses.

These are just working process’ but they will be expanded before I make my final choice.
