Unit 50 - My Stories and I

We have been asked to create a spoken word about ourselves and out beleifis. This could be stimulated by past experiances and could also be something that is happening to us right now in our current lives. I decided to list some of the things have I have gone through in my life and are still going through as a comunity or as an indervidual.

1) A really important part of my personality is my being an open homosexual to my friends and family. I came out when I was 13 but have know litrally all my life. As a LGBT Comunity we always get harrassed and victumised by Law, relgion and just past views on life. Most people have not got a problem with it but it is the same questions over and over again that keep getting asked: How do you know you are gay? Did someone turn you? How will you have children now? and then there are just statments of terms that shouldn't be used like 'faggot' or 'that is so gay'! I think I would relate well to this situation as it is still an on going problem throughout the world not just to LGBT but womens rights and equallity in general.

2) Bulling has effected me in past lives where I was always tormented and bullied for being differnet. I never spoke up about it as I was too scared and even my parents wouldnt understand. I tried to make friends but always got knocked back down again. I dont think teachers could understand and help students who have been bullied if they havent experianced it. My spoken word would come from an actual victum who understands and wants to help with their situation.

3) Music and its effect. Music is a part of everyones lives using it to get throught heartship and every day life. I would love to do a spoken word medley about different types of music with differnet backing tracks. Each on with its own short story and expeirance people go through. This si more open as it can effect anyone.

Idea: Take quotes from each LGBT Groups on their opionion on being themselves and their opions on the questions asked by hetrosexuals.
